I was reading this post at Unix Review on Certification Issues and Thoughts. It’s worth a read if you’ve got a few minutes especially if you’re considering picking up a few pieces of paper to prove what you know.

I’m firmly on the Cisco track at the moment, but Microsoft is rearing its ugly head often. That’s not to say I’m anti-Microsoft, because well, I’m technology agnostic, you see. I’ve had to pick up enough active directory to be dangerous but aside from that, there’s always been a “Microsoft guy” on-site that would reboot the servers at the right intervals to keep them happily providing service.
