USB TV Tuner

This looks pretty awesome—a USB TV tuner that plugs right into your laptop. The image below is from the story.
The device can either pick signals out of the air without the need for a cable connection or, or if you are at home you can go through the included cable adapter. I am not sure [...]

Serenity

For those of you who loved the series, this movie was a *perfect* wrap-up for the loose ends. If you were to lay this movie on the end of the series, you could be completely satisified when it was over. The dialog was of the same caliber as the series - witty comments and Chinese [...]

Swimming in Stages

Swimming is the lowest impact exercise around aside from masticating (that’s chewing, you pervs). That being said, you can’t expect to jump into the pool and start doing freestyle laps. I know; I tried. There was pain, shortness of breath, and a feeling of defeat when I couldn’t make a complete trip from one side [...]

Faster Fox

Oh yes, Firefox has gotten a few extra upgrades under the hood with this plugin. I’ve made a few of these adjustments by hand, but this takes care of it in one nice tidy xpi (pronounced “zippy”).

Google Ranges

Another Google search tip provided by Lifehacker: you can provide number ranges in your queries. For example the following would give you all matches for the school name and each of the years between 1992 and 1995. Very slick!
“aliso niguel high school” 1992..1995

Writely So, Sir

I received an email yesterday from cygnus over at blog[n] about a website called writely.com. I poked at it for a few minutes and was immediately impressed. I’ll have to crawl through it a little more, but here were the things I noticed immediately:

Collaboration
Save as Word document
Keyboard shortcuts work (Ctrl+B, Ctrl+U, etc).
HTML & Preview panes
Direct-to-blog [...]

Flash Games

My wife loves to play them. I decided to poke around to see what other sites besides the mainstream pogo.com and its ilk. There’s a great collection at good experience which also lead me to another collection called Orsinal. The latter are simple albeit very cool and feature relaxing sound tracks.

Filling My Time

I had been running out of things to keep myself occupied entertained. I’d come home after work and my choices were numbered and few. 1. Play computer games, 2. Watch a Netflix DVD. 3. Watch something recorded on the DVR, 4. Watch something live on the satellite, 5. Learn something, and 6. Read a book. [...]
