Angel - The Killer of Bedtimes
My wife likes Angel and, of course, I like Angel by proxy.
She/we purchased the first three seasons at some point and watched them all. I had just finished watching The Office (BBC version, not American). There I sat poring over Netflix’s selections until I realized I could pick up on Angel again at season 4.
Big mistake.
The last couple weekends I’ve rounded out my Sunday night by lying down and watching Angel. The problem being that every episode ends with some kind of cliff-hanger. You watch another episode, and another, and another. The clock goes from 7pm to 8:30pm to 11pm. Great - I have 4 hours until I have to be up in the morning. That’s alright. I’ll suck it up.
The alarm goes off at 3am and after a little self-dialog I reset it for 6am. When it goes off I hit snooze 2 or 3 times putting me at 27 minutes after the hour. I finally tear myself out of bed and take a shower. It’s downhill from there but I’ve successfully missed my gym time and am slinking to work.
I’ve been able to backfill the gym time by hitting it in the evening but I’m missing the early-rising benefits. The first thing I’m going to try is avoiding Angel at night. I’m still up in the air about the weeked sleep/rise times.
