Vacation, Fitness, and the Drive Home

Our vacation is coming to a close. I have to say it was one of the most restful we’ve taken in a really long time. The high point for me is going to be those times when we were all sitting in Rich & Susie’s living room watching a flick or chatting and I’d just nod off. After 30 minutes I’d wake up, look around, and then go back to sleep. That’s when you know you’re truly relaxed.

In the fitness arena, there didn’t seem to be a free minute to do any deliberate exercise. While I didn’t grab a treadmill or pump iron, we did do a lot of walking. We spent several hours at Six Flags Marine World, and I followed the girls around while they shopped. I’m going to say when I weigh in that I probably broke even. We’ll see how that goes.

Tomorrow morning we’re hitting the road at 4:30am or so. I want to get us passed traffic before 3pm if we can swing it. There’s a way to set up points of interest (POI) along the way by handing my Garmin Nuvi a comma-delimited file with the coordinates. I’m going to see if I can do a little reading and try uploading the coordinates of the stops I want to make on the way home. It’s supposed to make a sound, or something, when you get nearby. More on that likely over at EverythingTech.tv when I get it working.

Sounds like a nice restful vacation! Ours wasn’t quite so restful but equally as fun. I love the whole concept of nodding off in Rich & Susie’s living room, waking up and just going right back to sleep…like a lazy Sunday.
