So You Think You Can Sing

I always wondered if I could sing. People enjoy my speaking voice so that means I should be able to sing, right?
I try it every once in a while to see if I’ll wake up with some amazing singing ability and so far it hasn’t happened. I guess it’s like any instrument – you can [...]

Blame Canada

Looking into international rates for AT&T was on my todo list before I headed to the Great White North. I’m wishing now that I hadn’t looked. An excerpt of my conversation with a colleague:
(9:17:48 AM) Me: somehow I figured I’d slap another $50 down on the account and have the same service as I have domestic(9:17:52 AM) [...]

Late Night and Goofy Morning

I woke up late this morning. I guess I didn’t really wake up late but instead of hopping right into the shower I had to turn off the alarm and lie down (thanks GrammarGirl) for just a little while longer.
What’s terrible though is the morning when I probably most needed a complete breakfast I’m going [...]

Thinking Good Thoughts

I heard tonight that a close friend of mine has cancer. It hasn’t sunk in entirely yet, but I’m thinking good thoughts for her.

Anniversary

Last Sunday was our 6th anniversary. I rolled out of bed around 9am and Ivy was still sleeping. The first thing that occured to me was “hey, it’s our anniversary” followed by “uh, I didn’t get a card.”
I don’t know how your mate is, but mine wants a card. She doesn’t care if anything else [...]

Soliciters Unwelcome

In the last few days I’ve gotten follow requests on twitter: one from a local coffee shop - their one and only update advertising their soup of the day, and the other from some random person with 26 mostly-personal updates and a few interacting with other users I don’t know. Since I didn’t know the [...]

Random Thoughts

I’ve been telling myself that this blog needs a fresh post and just haven’t been able to get around to it until now. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about my loyal readers (both of you), just that when put up against other activities the blog fell short of the priority.
I just got a call [...]

iPhone Blogging

Testing blogging on the iPhone. The app was easy to configure and the interface is pretty intuitive.
I’m up in Fairfield this week. Working out has been a constant draw but only tonight did I actually go down and knock out 45 minutes.
Sleep now. 6am comes early.

Bio Post for Knol dot Google dot Com

Born and raised in southern California, I started my geek addiction early. It all started with an Apple IIc that my parents had bought for a business. Ironically they didn’t use it for work much, but I cut my teeth on BASIC programming there. I took my first typing class when I was in middle [...]

Modafinil

This morning TechCrunch released an article about Provigil (modafinil). I remember talking to Jason Tucker about this a few years ago when they were doing the first trials of the drug. Basically it allows the person taking it to stay awake and alert for up to 88 hours. They had tested this on pilots who had [...]
